CAPE TOWN – A Durban-based pastor who's at the centre of sexual assault allegations will appear in a Port Elizabeth (PE) court on Friday.
The Nigerian televangelist was arrested at PE airport on Thursday, following months of investigations.
The self-styled prophet is alleged to have molested and raped at least 30 young women who attended his church
The 58-year-old pastor will face human trafficking charges in the new law court in PE.
The Hawks allege he lured the young women, some of them minors, to his Umhlanga home in KwaZulu-Natal where he would sexually assault them.
Hawks spokesperson Robert Netshiunda says there's a possibility of more charges.
“When we investigate and we find elements of another charge, it will be added because we investigate holistically. We don’t want to leave any stone unturned. We do our best to get to the bottom of the matter.”
The head of the Jesus Dominion Church has reportedly hired a top PE lawyer, who tried to ensure he was not arrested.
