JOHANNESBURG – British pop singer George Michael was in 2011 the very first guest of what is now known as James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke segment.
The musical segment features celebrities driving with Corden while talking music and life.
Michael tagged along for the ride for Comic Relief back in 2011 and is said to have given the now the Late Late Show host the inspiration to create the segment.
In the video, Corden and Michael are driving around when Corden, who was then known as Smithy on British comedy show Gavin & Stacey, gets a call from Comic Relief's Lenny Henry requesting Smithy's help with a charity single at the BBC Television Centre.
Corden and Michael take on the mission and throw a song here and there in matching outfits.
